Commitment to Excellence
Ann Groninger and Valerie Johnson, the attorneys of Johnson & Groninger PLLC, have represented injured and wronged individuals in North Carolina for a combined five decades. Formerly with Patterson Harkavy LLP since the mid 1990s, Valerie and Ann started CJG to concentrate on the needs of individuals who have been injured or wronged in the workplace, on the road or in other settings. With offices in Charlotte and Durham, North Carolina, our practice serves clients statewide.
Focused Representation
With extensive experience in focused areas of practice, the firm has obtained notable results on behalf of clients in personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, employment law and criminal defense. We represent individuals in complex litigation, class actions, trial and appellate practice, and advocacy before a variety of administrative bodies and the North Carolina General Assembly.
Qualified to Protect Your Interests
With honors and accolades from law schools, the community and organizations, our attorneys are well positioned to serve the interests of clients. Valerie Johnson teaches at The UNC School of Law and Wake Forest University School of Law; and Ann Groninger regularly presents at professional education seminars; and all are active in bar and public interest organizations. From this solid foundation, our trial lawyers have achieved notable awards and rulings in workplace injury and employment litigation and in recovering compensation for victims of serious injury.

The accomplished lawyers of Johnson & Groninger regularly contribute to the legal community and to professional organizations.
We have held leadership positions in the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina, the North Carolina Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, Legal Aid of North Carolina and the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee.
We are active in teaching and writing in our areas of practice.
