Stop the Court Packing Plan!

The Governor and the NC Legislature want to add two new NC Supreme Court seats in a last-minute legislative session!  The session is supposed to be about Hurricane Matthew relief, but could also add new Justices to be appointed by Gov. McCrory in his last days in office.

In November, Judge Michael Morgan won his race to be the newest Justice on the NC Supreme Court, 54% to 46%.  The only reason to add two new members would be to change the votes on the court — even though the people of NC have spoken about who they want on our state’s highest court.  That would be a first for NC and would add an ugly political stain to our state.

What you can do:

Call Gov. McCrory’s office at 919-814-2050.  Choose option to talk to someone instead of leaving a message.   Share this info on your social media, etc.

Call your legislators!  They need to know you support democracy.  Here’s the link to find out who represents you:
