The second edition of North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law: A Practical Guide to Success at Every Stage of a Claim, co-edited by Valerie Johnson, was released by LexisNexis on July 24. The comprehensive guide to workers’ compensation law provides guidance for the North Carolina lawyer who wants to stay on top of the many recent changes in the law and procedure.
Chapters on the basics of workers’ comp from history to jurisdiction have been updated for the second edition by noted experts. Topics on the most complex of topics that arise in claims – from third party liability to Medicare and credits – were written by some of the most experienced, board-certified lawyers in the state. Chapters on motions practice, hearings and appeals were written by two Deputy Commissioners, a Commissioner, and the Executive Secretary of the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
This is Valerie’s fourth comprehensive manual on workers’ compensation, following the two editions of The Essentials of North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law published in 2008 and 2010.
